An old Chinese proverb says: A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Fortunately, the video software – Baby by EditShare, Lightworks in the Linux version, still made the first step into the scene, with a test build on the performance at the IBC 2012 .
After the long wait for an installable version of lightworks for Linux or even the release of the promised source code, there’s even a date for the alpha – version of the professional video editing software.
Upon request, an employee of the Technical Sales Support – team announced, that after the first demonstration of the linux test – build at IBC 2012 in Amsterdam they would bring out beta as soon as possible.
Then a voice from Lightworks Development Team in the forum tells the date of publishing: “We aim to have a Linux alpha build available on October 30th”.Then a moderator to consider: Thanks for your enthusiasm, but don’t forget that this is only the Alpha release. And don’t forget what Alpha means: it means it’s not stable enough to be called Beta and is certainly not ready for doing projects on.
By all means take part in the testing but please don’t risk any of your work with it.
(In fact, it will probably appear to be pretty stable, but the very fact that it’s in Alpha testing means that unpredictable things could happen).
ıllıllı I would like that the linux version of lightworks works, when it gets released. ;) ıllıllı

Das klingt ja spannend. Jahrelang drauf warten, fast schon an Vaporware gedacht.
